I Can Cope" Cancer Support Series at Duke Health Raleigh Cancer Center

Having cancer is life changing. Duke Health Cancer Center, along with the American Cancer Society, is offering the "I Can Cope" educational series to aid individuals in this life changing process. The program will arm participants with vital information necessary to make decisions regarding their personal care.

"I Can Cope" is a four-session series where participants discuss and learn about topics such as diagnosis, treatment, nutrition, exercise, emotions and stress management. The program offers an environment where participants can express their concerns with those that share the same experience and allow them to create ways to deal with new challenges that arise from diagnosis. The program also offers families and friends information concerning the issues of living with cancer.

A variety of healthcare professionals lead the series and provide information to participants as well as videotapes, print materials and class discussions. The dates for the upcoming series are August 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. There is no cost to participate but registration is required. To register or for more information individuals may visit www.dukehealthraleigh.org or call (919) 862-5719.
