The clinical laboratories at Duke Raleigh Hospital (DRAH ClinLab) are an integral part of Duke’s laboratory network serving Duke Raleigh, Durham Regional, and Duke University Hospitals.
DRAH ClinLab prides itself in offering all of the services provided by a world-class health organization such as Duke Medicine in a patient-friendly environment. We serve patients referred by area physicians, including physicians practicing in Raleigh and Durham, as well as health care professionals throughout eastern North Carolina.
We are a full-service laboratory covering both anatomical pathology (AP) and clinical pathology (CP) services. The medical director for the laboratory, Carol Filomena, MD, is one of two pathologists on staff and works with a team of histology and cytology technologists in AP.
CP is staffed by laboratory technologists who perform testing on blood and other body fluids as well as clinical technicians (phlebotomists) who draw blood for both inpatients and outpatients.
Services Available
We provide full-service testing in blood bank, clinical chemistry, coagulation, cytology, hematology, histology, phlebotomy, serology, and urinalysis.
An extensive array of tests are performed on-site. Specimen testing not performed here is referred to one of the specialized laboratories that meet our exacting standards, including the Duke Laboratory in Durham and Mayo Medical Laboratory.
Any licensed physician, nurse practitioner, or other health care professional with ordering privileges is welcome to send patients to our phlebotomy locations in the Duke Medicine Plaza on the second floor or the main hospital laboratory on the first floor.
Free on-site parking is available and all medical services offered at Duke Raleigh Hospital are within easy walking distance of one another.
