Dr. Kevin Speer, Southeastern Orthopedics Sports Medicine and Shoulder Center

Dr. Kevin Speer is a well known lecturer and educator on conditions about the shoulder. In 2007, he was named as one of the National Top 100 Sports Medicine Educators from the Institute for International Sport as a result of his long term commitment to using sports as a means to amplify positive values among athletes. He is in private practice at Southeastern Orthopedics working out of Duke Raleigh Hospital. He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins Medical School and did his orthopedic training at Duke Medical Center. His lectures about the shoulder ranging from sports medicine to arthritis and has special interest in injury prevention, especially in the older patient. He has published a book on the aging athlete titled The Graying of Sports Medicine.
