The Wellness Center offers assorted programs geared toward creating healthier lifestyles with the medical knowledge and resources of Duke Raleigh Hospital readily accessible.
Other programs offered include adult fitness, yoga, and aerobic classes such as zumba, circuit training, balance training, and sit’n’fit.
The dedicated staff at the Wellness Center consists of trained nurses, certified exercise specialists, certified group fitness instructors, and registered dietitians. These professionals can help you design a safe exercise program and ensure outstanding care for you and your loved ones.
Lose to Live
A 12-week weight loss program, Lose to Live provides a multidisciplinary team that works with individuals on making permanent lifestyle changes. Included in the program are fitness testing, exercise programming, nutritional counseling, and personal training.
Better Balance
The Better Balance program is a 12-week course offering education, balance specific exersises and strength training to combat injuries received from falling. The course is taught by specially-trained exercise specialists and includes a pre and post-course balance screen.
Adult fitness
Adult fitness is a general exercise program for those who are free of high-risk medical problems. It includes strength training by skilled professionals, cardio-respiratory conditioning, and initial and follow-up assessments.
The exercise programs offered consist of:
- Aerobics, including low impact and basic step aerobics and zumba
- Weight training
- Resistance training
- Circuit training
- Flexibility and relaxation sessions

Nutritional counseling
Individual consults with a licensed registered dietitian are available by appointment.
Personal trainers
Trainers are available by appointment to teach you the proper techniques for aerobic and strength training. Learn the principles of exercise and how to make exercise a permanent and enjoyable part of your daily living.
Wellness resources
There are also a variety of wellness programs offered for other specific conditions or needs, such as heart disease, stress management, osteoporosis, cancer recovery, arthritis, diabetes, trauma, and stroke.
Equipment
Choose from a full line of cardiovascular and strength training equipment. Locker rooms, shower facilities, and towel service are also available.

Tuesday: 6:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 5:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Thursday: 6:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Friday: 5:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
