Pain Clinic

Duke Raleigh Diagnostic and Interventional Pain Clinic

Pain is often associated with the care and treatment of many orthopedic conditions, and is an important part of the Orthopaedic Center. The physicians and staff of the Diagnostic and Interventional Pain Clinic are well equipped to help manage that pain. In addition to pain management, diagnostic procedures are available to assist the orthopedic physician in making the diagnosis and determining the plan of care.

Professional services are provided by Carolina Pain Consultants, an anesthesia based practice with physicians Board Certified in Pain Management. CPC specializes in the treatment of spine disorders such as degenerative joint disease and disc herniations, neck and back pain, and facet arthritis. In addition to ongoing physical therapy and non-narcotic medication management, the physicians may expertly perform injections specifically indicated for the patient’s diagnosis. CPC prides itself on staying abreast of cutting edge technologies to provide state-of- the-art care. When indicated, the following procedures are available:

  • Epidural Steroid Injections – cervical, thoracic, lumbar
  • Sympathetic Blocks – stellate, lumbar
  • Facet Joint Injection
  • Selective Nerve Root Injections
