Operating Room
"Duke Raleigh has been a tremendous part of my life for the last eighteen years. This where I began my career as an orthopaedic operating room nurse and have honed my skills through the mentorship of both staff and physicians. Orthopaedics is a constantly evolving specialty, and our dedicated group of nurses and surgical technicians continuously learn more about the latest treatment options. We love what we do, and are proud of how we do it."

Outpatient Rehabilitation
"I believe that the people you surround yourself with will either make you better or worse. My co-workers at Duke Raleigh are talented, compassionate and positive people and definitely make me better. Furthermore, orthopaedics is my passion. I thoroughly enjoy helping people return to the activities that they enjoy and that make their lives more fulfilling. This activity might be as basic as carrying their grandchild or as challenging as running a marathon. Either way, it is important to them and important to me."
Jenna Nichols, MPT
Inpatient Rehabilitation
"As an acute care physical therapist, I work with patients with orthopaedic issues immediately after their injury or surgery. My focus is on functional activities – getting out of bed, walking, climbing stairs --- and also education. I also work with the rest of the hospital’s team to assist the patient in creating the best discharge plan. I love working with patients in orthopaedics because they are so motivated. Often, an orthopaedic surgery gives a person the chance to get back to the activities they have missed. They are willing to work hard, and that makes their success so much more rewarding!"
