Sleep Lab

The specialized physicians at the Duke Raleigh Hospital Sleep Lab expertly diagnose and treat adults suspected or confirmed to suffer from a variety of sleep disorders.

The sleep medicine physicians, bariatric surgeons, and otolaryngologists work together to identify and treat patients with sleep disorders. We offer many state-of-the-art tests that are interpreted by a sleep medicine physician.

Conditions commonly treated at the sleep lab include:

  • Daytime sleepiness
  • Snoring
  • Sleep apnea
  • Restless leg syndrome
  • Narcolepsy
  • Parasomnias
  • Obesity hypoventilataion syndrome
  • Periodic limb movements in sleep
  • Upper airway resistance syndrome

Sleep problems, particularly sleep apnea, that go undiagnosed or untreated can lead to life-threatening health concerns, including heart attack and stroke.

The Duke Raleigh Hospital Sleep Lab provides comprehensive care across a variety of disciplines. Otolaryngologists and bariatric surgeons have been added to the sleep lab because many sleep issues can be caused by allergies, throat infections, and obesity.
