The Duke Raleigh Hospital consult-liaison program provides psychiatric care and consultation for patients with co-existing medical and psychiatric disorders.
We provide full-time, on-site psychiatry coverage to assist the hospitalists and other medical staff at Duke Raleigh Hospital.
Consult-liaison psychiatry works on the biopsychosocial model: patients do not just have a medical condition; they are a person with an illness that affects them, their families, and their social and occupational functioning.
The consult-liaison team works at the request of the medical staff to help diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders that may be the primary reason for hospitalization or a significant co-existing illness.
The psychiatrists at Duke Raleigh Hospital are all faculty of Duke University. Their clinical expertise has helped make them experts in their field.
