What is mammography?
Mammography is an imaging tool that makes it possible to detect and helps to diagnose breast diseases. Using a low-dose x-ray technique, mammograms can identify lumps or calcium deposits in the breast that cannot be felt.
During a mammogram, small amounts of ionizing radiation are used as the x-ray passes through breast tissue and an image is recorded on a film or a computer.
