Colorectal Cancer
Cancer of the colon and rectum (colorectal cancer) has a high survival rate when diagnosed and treated early. Duke Raleigh Cancer Center’s team of surgeons is specially trained to diagnose, treat, and remove colorectal cancer using a variety of successful procedures, including:
- Laparoscopic surgery
- Sphincter-sparing surgery to remove cancerous tumors without damaging the structure or function of the surrounding area
- Transanal endoscopic micro-surgery (TEMS) to remove polyps in the lower colon or rectum without making a stomach incision
Our surgeons work in collaboration with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and gastroenterologists to ensure that all patients receive the most comprehensive care available.
