Healthy Heart, Healthy Life: A Focus on Women

Heart disease is the leading killer of women in the United States. 

Join Duke Medicine for this annual event including:

• a health fair
• heart health screenings cost $10.00 each payable at the screening area by check or cash on the day of the event
• a red dress surivors fashion show featuring heart disease and stroke survivors
• presentations and a panel discussion provided by Duke experts in heart disease and women's health
• exercise and warm-up demonstrations provided by Gail Orrin, Director of Cardiac Rehab and Wellness at Duke Raleigh Hospital

Special instructions for screening:

• If fasting for 4 hours or more - Heart health screenings will include a total cholesterol, LDL, Triglycerides, HDL, blood glucose, blood pressure, weight, height and body mass index
• If non-fasting - Heart health screenings will include a total of cholesterol, HDL, blood glucose, blood pressure, wieght, height and body mass index
