Healthy Heart, Healthy Life: A Focus on Women
Heart disease is the leading killer of women in the United States.Join Duke Medicine for this annual event including:
- a health fair
- heart health screenings cost $10.00 each payable at the screening area by check or cash on the day of the event
- a red dress surivors fashion show featuring heart disease and stroke survivors
- presentations and a panel discussion provided by Duke experts in heart disease and women's health
- exercise and warm-up demonstrations provided by Gail Orrin, Director of Cardiac Rehab and Wellness at Duke Raleigh Hospital
Special instructions for screening:
- If fasting for 4 hours or more - Heart health screenings will include a total cholesterol, LDL, Triglycerides, HDL, blood glucose, blood pressure, weight, height and body mass index
- If non-fasting - Heart health screenings will include a total of cholesterol, HDL, blood glucose, blood pressure, wieght, height and body mass index
