Rolesville Elementary students will get a pep rally on health education on Friday, September 22.

Raleigh Community Hospital, the Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education and Rolesville Elementary School have teamed-up for the year to help provide excellent, interactive health education to the students, staff and parents of Rolesville Elementary School. On Friday, the program will officially kick-off first through fifth grade students. The Poe Center will outline the essence of good health, including a healthy body, good nutrition, exercise, dental health, rest and a positive attitude, using a pep rally theme.

Students will learn a poem with motions and spell out Cougars (the school mascot) in interactive, educational games. "The children are going to have a great time. We will have them moving and learning. It will be a great introduction to the program," said Julie McQueen, director of Education for the Poe Center. Each session will entertain and educate two classes at a time. The kick-off begins at 9:30 a.m. at Rolesville Elementary School Media Center. The programs will run until 3:10 p.m. with a 25 minute break at 12:15 p.m. The media is invited to stop by to learn about the new health educational program at Rolesville Elementary School.
