In a unique collaboration between health alliances and the arts, the Duke Raleigh Hospital Guild and Ruggero Piano will present "A Celebration of Music and Healing" with the premiere of The 99 Beautiful Names of God by J. Mark Scearce and performed by pianist John Cheek.
J. Mark Scearce is well known to Triangle area audiences for his broad range of music for the NC Symphony, Carolina Ballet, and NC Master Chorale, three institutions premiering works of his this spring.
John Cheek has distinguished himself as top prize-winner in a number of important national and international music competitions including the distinction of being the highest-ranking American in the 1986 Franz Liszt International Piano Competition.
Two events in the unveiling of the complete 99 Names are planned in March.

A discussion on the history of music and healing with selections from Scearce's new work.

$20 per person at the door. Wine and cheese reception to follow
All proceeds for this event go to the Duke Raleigh Hospital Guild in their support of the recording of The 99 Beautiful Names of God.
