The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing

Duke Raleigh Hospital has joined the DAISY Award Foundation, in collaboration with the American Organization for Nurse Executives (AONE), in order to recognize extraordinary nurses. This award recognizes the compassion, care and “super human” efforts exhibited by nurses every day at Duke Raleigh.

The foundation was established in 2000 by the Barnes family in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Having been touched by the remarkable care demonstrated by nurses during Patrick’s illness, the Barnes family made it their mission to recognize exceptional nurses around the country.

The award will be given on a quarterly basis. Nominations may be submitted by patients, visitors, employees or physicians.

Duke Raleigh Hospital is excited to honor our dedicated, hard working nurses with the DAISY Award!
